Drops of Clay emerged from a coincidental spill of porcelain drips on plaster. The texture drew Judiths interest and made her wonder if it is possible to build a shape with these drops.
The first bowls were all very fragile, to overcome this they later have been made with a base. This prototype was presented in 2017.
In 2019 Judith followed an Artist in Residency in Jingdezhen and decided to continue working on this project. From custom molds and an interest in traditional Chinese celadon glaze, a new series of Drops of Clay emerged. The collection made in China has been up for sale.
